Senator Flores recognizes Eagle Grocery for 81 years of business
On Friday, August 28, Texas Senator for District 19 (which includes Maverick County) Pete Flores presented Benny and Angie Rodriguez, owners of Eagle Grocery, with a recognition from the Texas Senate for being in business for 81 years.
Sen. Flores, Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes, and City Manager George Antuna visited the Rodriguez family at their place of business, in the heart of downtown where they have been a staple for more than 8 decades.
Eagle Grocery or “La Tienda de Los Venados” opened in 1939 by Joe and Albert Rodriguez and has continued being an important part of our community since then.
The family-owned Eagle Grocery is recognized throughout the region, serving Eagle Pass, Maverick County and Northern Mexico.
The store’s meat market is its specialty, known for offering particularly fine cuts of meat and most importantly customer friendly service.
