Covid 19 refrigerated truck arrives in our community
Our community leaders, like many others across the nation have been faced with very hard decisions unlike anything ever experienced in our lifetime.
Through the heartbreak of seeing so many constituents die from complications stemming from Covid-19, they have had to face unfathomable circumstances including seeing bodies of those deceased lined up in our local mortuaries waiting to be buried.
After seeing the problem of sadly accommodating the deceased and a realization that at any moment those inundated mortuaries could run out of space they took the hard decision to purchase a refrigerated truck as COVID-19 continues to claim the lives of many residents.
The refrigerated truck has now arrived and will be stationed at an undisclosed area in the community.
Hopefully, it will not be used as we all pray that the number of fatalities begin to decrease.
Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes and Maverick County Judge David Saucedo, City Council, Commissioners Court, and Emergency Operation Center personnel urge the community to do everything possible to stay safe and help stop the spread of a Virus that has taken 84 of our community residents and infected over 3,000.
