The Hernandez family which includes longtime and beloved Peace Officer Santos Hernandez and both his parents lost their battle against Covid-19.
The tragedy has left family members, friends and the entire community in a stupor over the deaths.
Santos Hernandez who was a longtime peace officer had been hospitalized last week and transported to a San Antonio TX in critical condition. His father had fallen ill with Covid-19 and had succumbed to the Virus.
Hernandez's mother who was also battling with the virus died last week as well.
Officer Hernandez succumbed to the Virus on Sunday, August 16.

We would like to express our sincerest condolences to his family and loved ones and to our brothers with the EPISD Police Department. We have not only lost a friend but a brother.
The type of person who truly cared about those he worked with and those he served. A type of person who gave from his heart to assure safety for others.

Officer Hernandez was employed with the Eagle Pass Independent School District Police Department and had served with the Maverick County Sheriff's Department, and close to 10 years with the Eagle Pass Police Department as well.
