Manuel “Manuelito” Reyes Jr. passed away at the age of 91 years old in Maverick County on Tuesday, July 27. Mr. Reyes, a well known and respected member of our community is survived by his wife, children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren who will truly miss him.
Reyes was a humble and honest man who believed in serving his fellow man.
At a young age he enlisted into the Army and took part in the Korean Conflict that lasted from June 1950 through July 1953.
Once back on U.S. soil, Reyes dedicated his time to his family and public office. He worked with the City of Eagle Pass for many years and served as Maverick County Treasurer for close to 33 years until his retirement in 2012.
Manuelito Reyes was the true definition of a proud American who's greatest honor was serving his fellow men.
