Hiller, Barrera, and Purcell register to seek EPISD Board rel-election

Incumbents Eagle Pass Independent School District Board of Trustees Chris Hiller, Jorge Barrera, and Glenna Purcell registered their candidacy on the first day of open registrations for the EPISD election coming up in the month of November. 

Barrera, Hiller and Purcell registered at the EPISD Central offices on Monday, July 20th.  The official registration period, opened from July 20 through August 17.
There are four EPISD Board of Trustees seats up for election which includes the position held by incumbent Board President Jorge Barrera, incumbent Chris Hiller, incumbent Dr. Hector Alvarez, and incumbent Glenna Purcell.
The three registering candidates state that they seek re-election to continue working on progress for EPISD and the entire Community.
During their tenure along with the other members of the EPISD Board of Trustees they have spearheaded numerous capital improvement projects such as two sport field houses, Band Hall Expansion projects, EPISD Central Offices Building, An A+ School District Rating, and many other projects, beneficial for the community.
Jorge Barrera, EPISD School Board President, was elected to the Board on November 8, 2016. He now seeks to be re-elected for another four year term and continue the progress.
Glenna Purcell, a Board Trustee of the Eagle Pass Independent School District, was appointed to the School Board after the passing of her husband, Lynn Purcell, a significant member of the community and a board trustee himself.  Ms. Purcell chose to serve on the board as her husband did and was elected in 2010 and 2012. Ms. Purcell worked within the school district for 28 years before she chose to retire.
Christopher Hiller, Board Trustee of Eagle Pass Independent School District was elected to the Board on November 8, 2016. Mr. Hiller graduated from Eagle Pass High School in 2000 and began working for his family business, A.E. Hiller & Sons, Inc., in 2001 as a superintendent.  As the years progressed, Mr. Hiller moved into the Senior Estimator position and oversees the day-to-day operations of the company.  He also holds the title of owner and Vice-President and is proud to be a part of a company that has been providing Maverick County citizens with jobs since 1950. Mr. Hiller has been married for 15 years to Magaly Hiller, and they have 4 children, Christopher Jr., Ashlynn, Caethan, and Audryna, who all attend schools in EPISD.  Mr. Hiller continues working on District progression for the benefit of the entire community.
The EPISD election will be held in November.
