Of the 2,523 identified Positive Covid-19 Virus cases in our region, Maverick County(1,169) accounts for 46.3 percent of all the cases (2,523). Del Rio has approximately 34.6 percent of all the identified Covid-19 cases in our region.
Those numbers are expected to continue increasing as officials from these 6 areas continue working on stopping the spread of the Covid-19 Virus.
This has been an uphill battle as seen in the percentage increases seen in the past week in all 6 communities.
From July 10th through the 17th, Maverick County saw a 43 % increase in cases going from 820 to 1,169 or 349 more cases.
Del Rio went from 622 to 875 a 41% growth.
Uvalde went from 228 to 313 a 37 % increase.
Dimmit County went from 18 cases to 41 or a 128 % increase in a weeks time.
Crystal City went from 72 positive cases to 121 or a 68 % increase.
Bracketvile went from 3 cases to 4 or a 33 % increase.
Officials in the 6 communities continue working diligently with health officials as emergency crews, medical care professionals and facilities begin feeling the strain of the Covid-19 Pandemic and its reality.
