The death toll due to the Covid-19 Virus Pandemic has reached 16 in Maverick County. Currently, there are 1,169 people who have tested positive for the Covid-19 Virus.

Of those, 1.3 % or 16 have lost their battle to the Virus. Local officials, Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes reported on Friday, July 17 that three more people had lost their battle against the Covid-19 Virus.

Officials state that people with underlined conditions are having a harder time with the Virus.

The entire community, young and old are urged to wear a face mask while out in public to protect others from potential infection.

A majority of the positive cases have been of people with no symptoms.

This is quite concerning, because of the higher dangers of passing the Virus to others without even knowing you yourself could be infected.

Another fact that is emphasized by officials is that most of the cases have been transmitted from family member to family member.

This is why you should wear a mask to cover up, for your loved ones, neighbors and friends. It's the neighborly and responsible thing to do.
