Public Officials announced that 6 medical doctors have been brought in as part of the United States National Guard COVID-19 response to assist in treating patients at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers.

Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes and Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and personnel from the Emergency Operation Center met with FDRMC CEO Eladio Montalvo last week in which numerous response items were discussed.

Mayor Sifuentes announced that the medical team are doctors from across the country who are from Massachusetts, New York, Colorado and Alabama.

At this point, FDRMC has the space to take in patients but needs personnel to assist in the treatment of the patients.

Currently, there are 46 people hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Some are in critical condition.
