Covid 19 deaths increases to 9

Local Officials announced on Friday, July 10 that the number of people that have died from COVID-19 is now at 9. 


Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes reported that two female residents of the ages 69 and 73 had succumbed to the COVID-19 Virus.
“We are now at 9 deaths from COVID-19. Our thoughts and prayers go out to these Individuals and their loved ones,” said Mayor Sifuentes and Judge Saucedo.
As of Friday, July 10th there are 820 people who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Officials have tested 7,813 people or 13 percent of the entire county population.
Of those tests there have been 6,002 negative results and 981 pending tests.
Judge Saucedo added that 320 people have recovered or about 39 percent of those who have come out positive. There are 491 active cases. 
There are 46 people at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers that are hospitalized.
There are 8 Individuals in the Hospital's Intensive Care Unit with 6 on ventilators.
