Eduardo Esquivel, who has been serving the EPISD as Interim Police Chief for several months, received the approval of the Board of Trustees and now officially becomes the new chief of police for the Eagle Pass Independent School District.

Esquivel was among nine applicants for the position vacated when the board released Johnny Ruiz last year pending legal proceedings stemming from an alleged incident at a local store last year.

Also approved at the meeting was the filling of the Instructional Officer position at the EPISD Early Childhood Center.  The board approved the recommendation made by ECC Principal Lety Sandoval of Antonio Flores.

These are only two of several positions within the district of employees retiring from the EPISD and/or being reassigned by order of the Superintendent.

Also approved was Eric Villaseñor as the new head football coach at CC Winn HS who replaces George Ruiz who served admirably in that same position for the past four seasons.
