A motor vehicle accident at an intersection on U.S. Highway 83 and FM 1050 near Uvalde Tx. between an SUV and a Semi Tractor Trailer claimed the life of four people on Sunday evening.

According to information from law enforcement officials including the Texas Department of Public Safety, the vehicle the four individuals from the Houston, Texas area were traveling in was impacted by a semi tractortrailer at the intersection of U.S. 83 and FM 1050.

Department of Public Safety preliminary reports indicate that the SUV driver failed to yield the right of way to the semi, causing the tragic accident.
