The deadline to apply is June 30th and those families with students will receive approximately $285 per every child who is a student.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture is providing more than $1 billion in pandemic food benefits to families with children that have temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price school meals.
The P-EBT program was announced a few weeks ago as a way to assist families to feed their children during these difficult times.
P-EBT works the same way Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits do and will help families that have lost access to free or reduced-price meals because of closures related to COVID-19.
Families that already receive SNAP benefits are automatically getting those funds transferred to their existing card.
Those who do not receive SNAP will need to apply to begin the process and receive their P-EBT Card. Remember, that all students are eligible to receive this aid.
