El martes, el juez del condado de Maverick, David Saucedo, y el alcalde de Eagle Pass, Luis Sifuentes, informaron a la comunidad que la víctima era un hombre de 83 años que había dado positivo en abril y no podía recuperarse del virus.
El Departamento de Servicios de Salud del Estado notificó a los funcionarios locales que la muerte del individuo fue causada por COVID-19.
Se informa que el individuo ha subrayado condiciones médicas preexistentes que contribuyeron a su muerte. Otros tres individuos de la familia también han dado positivo por el virus COVID-19.
Officials confirm first Covid 19 death in Maverick County
Local officials have confirmed the first fatality from Covid-19 in our community. On Monday, May 18, public officials reported that an individual that had tested positive had passed away and tests were going to be conducted to find out if it would be determined COVID-19 related.
On Tuesday, Maverick County Judge David Saucedo and Eagle Pass Mayor Luis Sifuentes informed the community that the victim was an 83- year-old male who had tested positive back in April and was not able to recuperate from the virus.
The Department of State Health Services notified local officials that the Individual's death was caused by COVID-19.
The Individual is reported to have had underlining preexisting medical conditions that contributed to his death.
Another three Individuals from the deceased family have also tested positive for the COVID-19 Virus.
