During a briefing held on Monday evening, Local Health Authority Dr. Victoriano Valdez, Maverick County Judge David Saucedo, and Mayor Luis Sifuentes addressed the issue.
“Our investigators have found that our citizens are not complying with the State and local recommendations. I take this opportunity to remind our citizens that as the Coronavirus Pandemic continues, our sanitizing measures and recommendations continue as well,” said Dr Valdez. “COVID-19 is still out there! And we will see more new cases and fatalities since the pandemic is not over yet. The number of patients diagnosed with COVID-19 grows everyday throughout the U.S. and the world. Experts are expecting the number of cases to grow in the coming weeks as more testing will detect new infections. The virus can be spread by coughing, sneezing, an infected person or object carrying the virus. Please wash your hands, stay home, cover your face with a mask, sanitize your belongings and maintain your distance to 6 feet apart. Please help us stop the spread," declared LHA Dr. Valdez.
