LAREDO – At the direction of Governor Greg Abbott and in light of his State of Disaster Declaration related to the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) is temporarily restructuring South Texas DPS Offices until Monday, April 6, 2020.

This action is being taken to protect both the health and safety of the public as well as our employees by limiting the ongoing spread of COVID-19.

Our goal is to remain prudent and to limit accessibility between the public and our employees for the health of our communities while maintaining continuity of DPS services.

We have facilitated other alternatives for our fellow Texans to receive the necessary customer service by providing instructions on how to purchase Texas Crash Reports (CR-3) online and office phone numbers to the district offices within the region (see below).

For any further assistance or guidance we ask that the public contact their local district office during regular business hours.

Visit Texas.gov or call 1-866-DL-RENEW to learn of the many ways to conduct their DL transactions online without the need to come into an office. For additional information about renewing your driver license or ID card, visit the DPS website.
