Another warning has been issued to local residents that there are thieves who are running rampant stealing air conditioning units who look to sell them for their price in steel or to simply make a profit from the sale of the unit itself.
The Eagle Pass Police Department has received several reports of the theft of such units especially the window unit type A/C. .
In a recent incident on Trinity Street, it was reported on Tuesday that someone had stolen their window unit which is very costly and very much needed at this time.
In other cases the thieves have been caught in the act of stealing the units however they have managed to escape without being arrested.
As the season continues to move along, and temperatures continue to rise, thieves will be trying to steal these units and the police force is on standby to increase vigilance and arrest those responsible, prosecuting them to the fullest extent of the law.
