Where's your income tax refund?
Based on previous years and IRS policy, if you efiled early and went through the direct deposit mode you could expect your return within 10-15 days.
Remember that the main factors that determine when you may receive a return includes how early you filed, certain credits claims including EITC and CTC, if you e-filed or sent it by mail, and existing debt to the federal government.
The Internal Revenue Service may add a 2-3 week delay to tax returns claiming Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) or Child Tax Credit.
This is done so to assure that everything is true and correct since these credits are the most abused.
The additional time allows the IRS to verify that taxpayers qualify for the credits.
To be able to track the status of your refund you can go to the IRS's website and use the “Where's My Refund?” or download the IRS2Go app to check your refund status.
