Approximately 1,900 tons of brush and 1,800 tons of trash have been collected.
Chavez commented that the campaign has been a big success and he appreciates the response he has received from residents who have collaborated taking waste out to their sidewalks of items which serve no further use.
He also added that property owners have 10 days to obey with City ordinances to clear their properties of such trash if not they will be cited by Municipal Court who will be handing out citations which could lead to serious fines.
In reference to the trash collected, Chaves said that the City will have to pay up to $50,000.00 to dispose of all trash collected which is a large expense for the City, however he says that the campaign itself has been a success.
