City Secretary Imelda Rodriguez welcomed those in attendance and proceeded to hold the drawing which determined how the candidates names will appear on the election ballot for the February 1st election.

In the Eagle Pass Mayor race, Councilman Rudy Villalpando will appear in slot No.1 while his opponent, Councilman Luis Sifuentes, will be in the second slot. 

In the City Council Place No. 2 race, Elias Diaz will appear in the 1st spot and Elizabeth Chisum's name will be in the second spot in their respective race.

Attorney Rolando Salinas who is running for the City Council Place 4 position drew No. 1 and will be first on the ballot in this race.

Mayito Obregon will be 2nd and Frank Sanchez will appear in the 3rd spot.

All candidates are ready to go as early voting is less than 20 days away.

Elizabeth Chisum is looking forward to the election as she looks to become one of only 5 women to ever hold a City Council seat.

Early voting is scheduled to begin from January 15 – 28, 2020. January 21 and the 27 are scheduled for extended hours during the early voting period. Election day will be on February 1, 2019.
