A male suspect in the murder was captured in San Antonio TX and is identified as 44 year old Mark Ivy.

The Maverick County Sheriff Department is investigating the tragic incident that could have Ivy facing charges including Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Murder Charges.

Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber reported that on Thursday, 12/19/2019 at approximately 10:37 PM, Maverick County Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to Deer Run Subdivision in regard to shots fired and a possible injured subject that was already on his way to the hospital.

Upon arriving at the hospital, contact was made with the injured person at the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center who advised he was accidentally shot by a known male subject while the subject was intending to shoot another known male subject.

The victim was then transported to the San Antonio Medical Center for further evaluation as he sustained a gunshot wound to the face.

After conducting the preliminary investigation at the residence on Deer Run, another adult male was found lifeless at the rear of the residence.

A Justice of the Peace was contacted and pronounced the male adult deceased. The deceased male is identified as Sergio Jesus Lerma Jr.
