El juez principal de distrito de los EE. UU., David A. Cantu y su equipo legal comparecieron ante el juez principal de distrito de EE. UU.
David A. Ezra a la 1:00 p.m. en el que presentaron información importante sobre el argumento de elegibilidad de Cantu para buscar la oficina legislativa.
El equipo legal del abogado y representante estatal Candidato Heriberto Morales también participó en la audiencia.
Cantú busca alivio del sistema de la Corte Federal para aclarar las acciones recientes tomadas por el Partido Demócrata del Estado que lo consideró no elegible para buscar el asiento de Representante del Estado.

Eagle Pass Major Ramsey E. Cantu and his legal team appeared in a San Antonio, TX. Federal Courtroom on Monday, December 16 as he sought an Emergency Ex Parte Temporary Restraining Order against the Texas Democratic Party, including Chairperson Gilbert Hinojosa, on their decision to deem him ineligible from participating in the March 2020 Democratic Primary election.
Senior U.S. District Judge David A. Ezra issued a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) granted enjoining Democratic Party from putting together a ballot for the House District 74 electoral process until a Preliminary Injunction hearing is held in Federal Court.
The Preliminary Injunction hearing is scheduled to take place on January 13th at 1:30 pm.
A preliminary injunction is an injunction entered by a court prior to a final determination of the merits of a legal case, in order to restrain a party from going ahead with a course of conduct or compelling a party to continue with a course of conduct until the case has been decided. If the case is decided against the party that has been enjoined, then the injunction will usually be made permanent.
If the case is decided in favor of the party that has been enjoined, the injunction will usually be dissolved or dismissed.
Cantu and his legal team appeared before Senior U.S. District Judge David A. Ezra at 1:00 PM in which they presented important information regarding Cantu's argument of eligibility to seek the legislative office.
Attorney and State Representative Candidate Heriberto Morales' legal team also participated in the hearing. Cantu seeks relief from the Federal Court system to clear up recent actions taken by the State Democratic Party that deemed him ineligible to seek the State Representative seat.
Mayor Cantu is looking to expedite the legal matter as soon as possible due to impending election deadlines, including an electoral ballot name placement deadline in which all candidate's names are required for submittal to the Texas Secretary of State.
