The City of Eagle Pass continues moving forward with the construction of a $12,000,000 Sports Complex.

The City is scheduled to hold a ground breaking ceremony for the complex on Tuesday, December 2, 2019 located at 1325 Patsy Winn Boulevard. The ceremony will begin at 10:00 am.

During the past year the Eagle Pass City Council has been working together on this multi-million dollar project which is to sit on an approximately 124 acre area that has been donated by the CC Winn family.

During the month of September Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu held a press conference in which he discussed the City's plans to build the sports complex and presented information regarding one of the City's largest and storied projects.

The Sports Complex will include 6 baseball/softball diamonds, a football field, soccer fields, tennis, volleyball and basketball areas, walking trails, and a splash water recreation area.

Mayor Cantu added that the City will be working with the county on other projects in the near future. Cantu also recognized the City Council and administration for working on the betterment of the community.

The City is working alongside Hellas Construction for the design and construction of the sports facility.

Hellas Construction is a very experienced company who has worked on larger than life projects including the Dallas Cowboys Stadium.

“This is something that we feel will be greatly beneficial for our community and children, now and into the future, said Cantu.“ I want to thank the community for allowing us to work for you and our communities progress. I also want to sincerely thank the Winn family for their generous donation, thank you.”
