Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers Nurses receive Daisy Foundation awards

Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers congratulated their DAISY Foundation award nominees including Minerva Cantu RN, Evelyn Castillo RN, Susan Uelp RN, Jazmin Escobar RN, Tammy Hernandez RN, Miguel Valencia RN, Rebecca Loyola RN, Melissa Garza RN, and Evelyn Martinez RN. 

The Fort Duncan employees were nominated by their, peers, physicians, patients and families, and other staff and administrators to receive the caring award.

The Daisy Foundation is an acronym for Diseases Attacking the Immune SYstem and was formed in November 1999, by the family of J. Patrick Barnes who died at age 33 of complications of Idiopathic

Thrombocytopenic Purpura (ITP). The nursing care Patrick received when hospitalized profoundly touched his family, and they decided to find a way to give back to caring nurses all across the nation.
