The Maverick County Sheriff's Department will be giving away gun safety locks to anyone Interested in securing their firearms.
Maverick County Sheriff Department Chief Deputy Robert De Leon reported that the department will be giving away locks to individuals who have firearms as part of their Lock & Prevention Campaign. De Leon stated that this will help avoid tragic accidents that can occur when a firearm is not secured.
The locks will be available at the Sheriff’s Department offices and are free to the public.
