Juan Jose Rodriguez, who was accused of Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Sexual Assault (both first degree felonies) was scheduled to appear before Honorable 365th Judicial District Judge Amado Abascal for an arraignment hearing on Thursday, October 24 at 1:30 pm.

During the proceedings, notification was made that an arraignment waiver had been filed and that pre-trial on this case is scheduled to begin November 18, 2019 at 1:30 pm.

Rodriguez was arrested by law enforcement officials including the Texas Rangers back in 2018 on multiple charges stemming from allegations of an aggravated kidnapping, including aggravated sexual assault accusations.

The arrangement proceedings are basically part of the judicial process in which a defendant is formally advised of the charges against him or her.

Back in 2018 the Texas Rangers' office, with the assistance of the Eagle Pass Police Department, arrested Rodriguez - a resident from Maverick County - on multiple charges including Aggravated Kidnapping and Aggravated Sexual Assault charges.

Texas Ranger Joe Sanchez investigated this case and assured that the man being accused was apprehended.

The joint arrest occurred on Friday, March 2, 2018.

The defendant is considered innocent, until proven guilty in a court of law where he or she is afforded the right to defend themselves against the accusations they are facing.
