The Sheriff said the body was muddy, and preliminary findings indicate that the man would have died 2 days ago. Meanwhile the Consulate of Mexico in Eagle Pass announced that the body belongs to a male approximately 25-35 years of age. The unidentified body bears a large cross tattoo on the right shoulder, along with other letters that were not legible. On the left shoulder the man bears a tattoo of a sun and beneath it twisted flames. On the man's forearms another tattoo had the letters K I S E, and four numbers- 0820. He wore blue jeans, a white shirt, blue boxer shorts with blue and white stripes, and a red belt with white letters that say American Eagle, a red and white buckle with a blue eagle and not carrying any identification. Magistrate Dora Wood was on the scene and ordered the body sent to the city of Laredo, Texas, to a coroner's office to determine the cause of death. Moreover, the Sheriff also reported this morning that they found a dead body on the banks of the Rio Grande in the "Cinco Ranch" area in El Indio, Texas. Presumably, this person is of Guatemalan origin as among his belongings was an identification card and cash from that country. The cause of death was identified as a drowning.

Currently under investigation by the Texas Rangers is the discovery of the body of a dead man in the waters of the Rio Grande, which was found floating north of Eagle Pass at the height of Eagle Point Ranch, near the Hopedale sector. Border Patrol discovered the body on Thursday afternoon, and Eagle Pass Fire Department pulled the body out of the water. Maverick County Sheriff Tom Schmerber stated that the body had an apparent gunshot wound in the area of the right temple, appearing to have been shot by a bullet, as a result of the initial findings the Texas Ranger were called in assuming that there is criminal activity associated with this particular case.
