The MCHD group is promoting and bringing awareness to Breast Cancer and the District's BCCS program which is set up to help individuals from the surrounding region.
The group also took the time to invite the community to a MCHD Breast Cancer Awareness event to be held at the City of Eagle Pass ITC building on October 17, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
“We want to extend an invitation to the entire community to join us during this very important event that brings awareness to Breast Cancer,” said Martinez.
(BCCS) Program Director Luisa Garza also addressed the issue and stressed the importance of being screened.
“We want to increase awareness to Breast Cancer in our community and surrounding areas that the program covers. It is of great importance that you get screened,” said Garza. 'We also want to invite the community to assist our 4th Annual 'Think Pink' event. We will have several guest speakers including Oncologist Dr. Eduardo Miranda, and Dr. Carlos Hernandez, who is the medical director for the BCCS program,” said Garza. Present during the conference was MCHD CEO Alma Martinez, BCCS Director Luisa Garza, Ryan White Program Director Dr. Marcos Trevino, and Clinical Operations Manager Eric Rodriguez, and Mental Health Clinician Elias Diaz.
