"Our prize money has gone up this year and this is why we are expecting a bigger turnout," said Sanchez, "We're hoping that more athletes come and visit Eagle Pass." Prizes for this race range from $100.00 to $50.00 to $25.00 for third place finishers.
On July 14th, the City is hosting two bike races of 30 and 50 miles for six different divisions.
Prizes for this race include $400.00 for first, $200.00 for second and $100.00 for third place finishers.
"These are one of the five events we host each year, this is our 9th annual event and they're getting bigger and bigger each year."

City announces its 9th annual Summer Sizzler Race Series

The City of Eagle Pass Parks and Recreation Department is announcing its 9th annual Summer Sizzler Race Series on July 4th and 14th.
"We're inviting all local athletes from South Texas and Northern Coahuila to our Summer Sizzler Race Series," stated Jorge Sanchez of the Eagle Pass PARD, "We usually get a good turnout for our races as we have had 40-60 participants each year."
The first event will be the 5K run on July 4th at 8:00 A.M. at the Eagle Pass Golf Course where six divisions will be running for cash prizes.
