Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to an area along Memo Robinson Rd. at approximately 11:13 pm in reference to a motor vehicle accident with a fixed object.
Upon arriving at the scene, deputies made contact with a subject identified as Juan Sebastian Cortinas (35 yoa) who was driving a white GMC Sierra 3500.
During the accident scene investigation it was revealed that the driver was traveling southbound on Memo Robinson at a high speed and suddenly lost control of his vehicle and then struck a metail rail.
EMS were summoned to location, due to Driver displaying minor lacerations to the lip area, in which he refused medical attention and further treatment.
Upon further speaking with Cortinas, the displayed signs of intoxication in which he admitted of consuming alcoholic beverages prior to the accident.
Cortinas was then placed under arrest for Driving While Intoxicated and Motor Vehicle Accident with A Fix Object and transported to Tom Bowles Detention Center for further processing.
