The two-day event will be held from October 18 – 19 with various events taking place on both days.
On Friday, October 18 there will be a historical lesson of the Rio Grande River presentation by historian speakers (Mario Montano, Eagle Pass & Otto Schober, Piedras Negras.
The event will be from 5:00PM-7:00PM at the Victorian House.
On Saturday, October 19, the celebration will begin with Water Awareness Mile Relay Race at Shelby Park from 8:00AM-9:00AM. To participate you can register at the City of Eagle Pass Parks & Recreation with Mr. Juan Cuellar at Multipurpose Center, 480 S. Adams St. or call 830-773- 4343 for more information.
A Kayak/Canoe Race (For ages 13 and up will also be held from 8:30 AM- 11:00AM:.
The city will also be having a Hole in One golf competition as well.
A Rio Grande Festival will also be taking place from 11:00AM-5:00PM with food booths, games, mechanical bull, water slides, dunking booth, live music and more. Both communities will be having a Tribute Ceremony from 2:00PM to 3:00 PM.
