Ever since the first pile of dirt was dug up to build the man made reservoir, people have been creating great memories there.

Who will ever forget the old kids playground area and the weekend barbecues with the family. And even camping out overnight to celebrate Easter, not just with loved ones but an entire community.

The Maverick County Lake has been a focal point of so many great memories for community residents and visitors. In the past few years Maverick County officials have been working on beautification improvements at the Lake, including the addition of a childrens recreational water playground and Pet Park area.

They have added a walking trail and baseball park additions as well.

Maverick County Commissioner Jerry Morales and County Judge David Saucedo have expressed the importance of up-keeping the county lake including adding a sprinkler system and most importantly an amphitheater to add to the attraction of the area.

The County recently moved to negotiate the design work for the 2,500 seat amphitheater which will help promote the arts and be a venue for live music, performances and other cultural events as well.

County officials are hoping that the new additions will be of a great benefit to community residents and tourist as well.
