A body was recovered from the Rio Grande River at approximately 12:40 pm on Friday, September 20.
United States Border Patrol and Eagle Pass Fire Department personnel were summoned to an area along the Rio Grande River regarding a body being discovered.
Fire Department personnel proceeded to recover a deceased individual and a Justice of the Peace was called to the scene.
Maverick County Justice of the Peace Jeanie Smith arrived at the scene and gave a pronouncement of death.
