The City of Eagle Pass continues moving forward with numerous capital improvement projects throughout the community. Recently, the word went out that the City would supposedly be tearing down the Historic San Juan Plaza to build a new Kiosk in its place.

This outraged many residents who voiced their opinions and concerns, online.

The reality is, that the City is not looking to tear down the San Juan Plaza Kiosk that is part of the community's lure and history for more than 75 years.

The City of Eagle Pass will be working on the San  Juan Plaza including the remodeling of the existing Kiosk as part of Capital Improvement projects that have been in the plans since 2018.

The San Juan Plaza will not be torn down as believed by numerous residents who raised their displeasure online.

Eagle Pass Mayor Ramsey E. Cantu addressed those concerns. "We are not tearing it down. The kiosk will receive a much-needed upgrade. It will keep the same concept with a historic approach to the plaza," said Mayor Cantu.
