The first security drill was conducted at around 12 noon when CBP agents blocked off traffic flow on Bridge No. 2.
The drill went on for close to 15 minutes before traffic was allowed to flow normally. Minutes later another security drill took place, impeding traffic for close to 30 minutes.
These types of security drills have been taking place since mid-February when a caravan of more than 1,000 people arrived in Piedras Negras threatening to cross the border at any cost, including possibly trying to overrun our Port of Entries.
These types of mock drills are expected to continue as the U.S. CBP agency is safeguarding our ports from any illegal activities.
