Local and state officials, private sector developers, academics, large commercial users, and energy experts from the U.S. and Mexico came together to dialogue on the U.S.- Mexico energy relationship and regional efforts to develop projects that help improve the environment, highlighting current and future bi national energy projects, financing opportunities, new technologies and how to continue building partnerships that will be beneficial to both countries.
Guest speakers included Office of International Affairs at the Department of Energy Deputy Assistant Secretary for Asia and the Americas Elizabeth Urbanas, Thomas Tunstall, Ph.D. senior research director at the University of Texas at San Antonio Institute for Economic Development, David MuЦoz Andrade Founder and Director of Diurna Energy Inc, and Roberto Coronado Senior Vice President in Charge and Senior Economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas.
During the two-day conference there were numerous panel discussions including an Economic Outlook in the Bi national Energy Relationshipwhich set the economic context and consider the economic impact for the complex energy relationship between the United States and Mexico.
Another discussion held was relating to Energy and the Environment which focused on energy production, distribution and consumption play and an examination the impact and trends affecting the future, including renewable energy and other technological and policy solutions.
The group also explored Cross border opportunities, current and future challenges and opportunities for energy business energy in the border region, including natural gas as well as electricity generated from renewable sources.
Many other topics were discussed in an effort to move forward into the future and work together to bring environmental friendly advancements into both Countries.
