Fort Duncan Regional Medical Centers and the Eagle Pass Independent School District recently partnered up to hold a joint personal safety training.

During the training, Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center's Emergency Room Director, Elizabeth Gonzalez, RN, and Trauma Coordinator, Nelson Dungo, RN provided EPISD Nursing Staff a “Stop The Bleed” and personal safety training.
The Stop the Bleed campaign aims to teach civilians simple techniques to slow or stop life-threatening bleeding, believing that people already at the scene can help save lives before first responders arrive.
The campaign also supports training for law enforcement and other non medical first responders and recommends easy access to bleeding control kits containing tourniquets, gloves and hemostatic gauze. Ideally, the kits would be located in malls, airports, schools and sports centers.
