The City of Eagle Pass Mayor's Youth Council is created to encourage young people to become engaged with local government, receive mentoring from City Council, perform community service for the benefit ot the City of Eagle Pass residents, advise local government officials on the issues that face young people in our community, and learn about local government and the importance if civic participation.
Mayor Ramsey English Cantu shall serve as an ex-officio member with voting rights. Mayor Cantu presented the Youth Council on Thursday,
August 15 and congratulated the members for accepting their role in this historic ensemble.
“Congratulations to our very first Mayor’s Youth Council! I’m very proud of all 14 members who have expressed their readiness to hit the ground running to improve our youth activities and over all youth concerns in our city. I look forward to a very productive year with this group of students!” stated Mayor Cantu.
