Within fiscal year 2016, the Border Patrol employed 19,828 men and women across the nation. Of that number, 1,439 were employed within the Del Rio Sector which has stations in Eagle Pass, Carrizo Springs, Comstock, Del Rio, Bracketville, Uvalde, Rocksprings, and San Angelo, and Border Patrol is looking to hire more.

Anyone interested may come at any time, ask questions, view the application process first hand, and even apply on site.
Basic eligibility requirements to be a Border Patrol agent are as follows: be a US Citizen; have a valid driver’s license; have resided in the US for at least three of the last five years (military exception); be eligible to carry a firearm; and be referred for selection prior to their 40th birthday (waivers available for veteran’s preference or those that have previously served in a federal civilian law enforcement position.)
The minimum starting salary is $52, 583 with the possibility of earning more depending on experience and education. Within four years, agents will make at least $97,486 per year. The work environment, although challenging, offers many advancement opportunities. Applicants that attend the open house will have the chance to meet face-to-face with recruiters and staff.
