Every year great film- making is celebrated with merit based awards given by the people that take films most serious- ly; people that dedicate their lives to the making and dis- cussion of movies out of love for that dream projector we call big screen. The Oscars have been champi- oning movies for the past 84 years now, and while some years have been fairer then others we can always agree that the best of the best lay within their winners and even more within their nom- inees. Here are those I pre- dict will most likely win,

may have a chance, and have don’t have a shot at that little golden statue.

I will also mention my personal favorite in the category, if my pick happens to be mentioned in one of the three other sections I will

place an asterisk next to it.

A Slave. It may sound likethe loosers’ anthem but every nominee is a winner. It is a shame we must place great movies against great movies because they’re all great movies. To call one better than the other depends on personal taste not crafts- manship because every sin- gle nominee carries the same amount of passion for cine- ma as the winner, they just happen to present it in a dif- ferent way. It’s like crown- ing apples as the best fruits; orange fans may disagree with that opinion. I recom- mend you watch all of the nominees if you get the chance and choose which film is the best of the years to you.
