Juana Segovia de Luna, went to be with the Lord on May 28, 2016, in Eagle Pass, Texas. She was born August 21, 1935, in El Moral, Coahuila, to Pedro Segovia and Aurelia Reyes. Juana is survived by her sons, Rodolfo and Pablo, and her daughter, Maria de Jesus. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Visitation for Juana was held at Funerales Socorro in Piedras Negras on May 29 and 30. A funeral mass was held at Nuestra Senora de Guadalupe and interment followed at Panteon Santo Cristo. Florencio H. Salinas went to be with the Lord on June 1, 2016, in Eagle Pass, Texas, at the age of 100. He was born on October 27, 1915, to Pablo Salinas and Marcelina Hernandez. Florencio is survived by his many friends and extended family at La Guadalupana Adult Day Care. Visitation was held on June 1 and 2, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Dolores “Lolita” Perez went to be with the Lord on June 3, 2016, in Eagle Pass, at the age of 100. She was born on May 20, 1916, to Vicente Zacarias and Concepcion Davila. She is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 65 years, Margarito Perez Ortiz; her grandson, Daniel Perez; her daughter-in-law, Carmen Perez; and her son-in-law, Evelio Bonilla. Lolita was passionate about her garden, her church and her family. She was one of the first catechism teachers in Piedras Negras, something she dedicated herself to for over 30 years. Lolita is survived by her son, Alfredo Daniel Perez, and her daughters, Socorro P. Bonilla and Maria de Jesus Perez. Lolita is also survived by five grandchildren: Sylvia San Pedro, Griselda Bonilla Lewis, Marta Bonilla Larson, Terri Perez and Sergio Bonilla; eight great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation was held on June 6 and 7, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church on June 7, followed by interment at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery. Maria del Socorro Gaytan Alcantar went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2016, in Eagle Pass, Texas. She was born in Rio Bravo, Coahuila, on July 23, 1942, to Patricio Gaytan Sanchez and Maria del Refugio Alcantar Dominguez. She is predeceased by her husband, Sabas Serrato Gloria and her son Miguel Angel Serrato Gaytan. Maria del Socorro is survived by her son, Humberto Patricio Serrato Gaytan; his daughters, Sandra Guadalupe Serrato de Guevara, Nora Magdalena Serrato and Liliana Serrato; nineteen grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Humberto and Jaime; and her sisters, Melivia, Cruz and Hilda. Visitation was held on May 19 at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Born in Eagle Pass, Raquel was the daughter of the late Daniel and Leonor Lopez. Raquel is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Nolberto M. Ramon and her great-grandson, Jonathan. She is survived by her daughters Sylvia (Jose Luis) Rodriguez and Evangelina Ramon (Abel Fuentes); sons Joseph (Helen) Ramon and Stephen (Santa) Ramon; twelve grandchildren: Jose Luis II, Yesenia, Martiza, Daniel, Corina, Priscilla, Juan Jesus, Stephen Jr., Stephanie, Sebastian, Amanda and Pedro; and 2 great-grandchildren: Matthew and Dominique. She is also survived by her sisters Angela Iracheta, Dolores Rodriguez, Norma Aguilera and Leonor Garcia. Visitation for Raquel was held on Friday, May 27, and on Saturday, May 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held on May 28, 2016, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. 1945-2016
Guadalupe Castillon De Los Santos entered into eternal rest on March 21, 2016, in San Antonio, at the age of 70. He was born August 12, 1945, in Guerrero to Guadalupe and Micaela Castillon. Guadalupe is survived by his wife Florentina; his sons: David (Camelia) Castillon, Matias (Rachelle) Castillon and Willie Castillon; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Mavy Castillon de Esquivel and his brother Joaquin Castillon De Los Santos. Visitation was held at Memorial Funeral Chapel on March 22 and 23, 2016. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Castillon family.
Juan Alfonso Urzua
1961-2016
Juan Alfonso Urzua, born on May 25, 1961, went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2016 at the age of 54 in Eagle Pass, Texas. He was born in Nuevo Laredo, Nuevo Leon to Sixto and Martha Urzua. Juan is survived by his son Jonathan and his daughters Vianey and Deborah. He is also survived by three grandchildren. Visitation for Juan was held March 28 and 29, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held on March 29 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, followed by interment at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery. Ninfa A. Espinoza
1924-2016
Ninfa A. Espinoza went to be with the Lord on March 26, 2016, in Eagle Pass, at the age of 91. She was born on May 10, 1924, in Eagle Pass to Luis and Ninfa Borrego. Ninfa is survived by her daughter Maria Rosa and her sons Ramon, Rodolfo and Juan Carlos. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Ninfa was held on March 29 and 30, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held on March 30, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment followed at Maverick County Cemetery. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel. Guadalupe Torres entered into eternal rest March 27, 2016, in Eagle Pass, at the age of 95. She was born on December 12, 1920, in Leon Springs, TX to Anastacio and Vicenta Gonzalez. Guadalupe is survived by her daughter Alicia Trevino, and her sons Elpidio Torres, Armando Torres, Jose Julio Torres, Ramiro Torres and Alfredo Torres. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Guadalupe was held on March 29 and 30, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Pedro Jesus Elizondo, born December 2, 1946, went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2016 at the age of 69 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in Allende, Coahuila to Ramon and Refugia Elizondo. Pedro is survived by his wife of 52 years, Rosario; his children: Pedro (Denise) Elizondo, Juan Antonio (Diana) Elizondo, Ramon Javier (Elsa) Elizondo and Alejandra (Jesus Ernesto) De La Torre; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters Lucila, Maria Elena, Dora Elia, Aracely, Maricela and Teresa and his brothers Ramon and Javier. Visitation for Pedro was on March 17 and 17, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Following cremation services, interment of ashes took place at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels. Esperanza H. Muñiz
1956-2016
Esperanza H. Muniz went to be with the Lord on March 16, 2016, in Eagle Pass, at the age of 59. She was born on August 7, 1956, in Piedras Negras, Coahuila to Manuel Herrera and Dolores Ramon. Esperanza is survived by her mother, Dolores Herrera; her husband Jesus Muniz; and her children: Jesus Manuel Muniz, Alejandro Muniz, Virginia Muniz, Gustavo Adolfo Muniz and Jessica Gwendolyn Muniz. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, six brothers and one sister. Visitation for Esperanza was on March 18 and 19, 2016, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A religious service was held at Memorial Funeral Chapel on March 19. Interment followed at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery. Rosa Elia Rodrigues, age 87, passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016 in San Antonio. She was born on September 4, 1928 in Eagle Pass, Texas, to Enrique Rodriguez and Oralia Contreras. Rosa lived in Eagle Pass for much of her life. Her husband was the mayor of Eagle Pass and she maintained close ties with family, friends and the community. Rosa was also a former board member of San Antonio Aggie Wives and Graduates Club. She was known as Tia Rose to many, Mamo to grandchildren and Rosita to friends. Rosa was a strong woman and clearly the matriarch of her family.
She was preceded in death by, her father, Enrique Rodriguez; mother, Oralia Contreras; husband, Edward P. Rodrigues; and brother, Enrique (Kike) Rodriguez. Rosa is survived by her daughter, Eileen Jones; grandchildren, Thomas E. (Christina) Wallace, W. Michael (Keri) Wallace, Eric W. Jones and Traci L. Canal; great grandchildren, Ruben E. Wallace, Isabel O. Wallace, Katelyn G. Wallace, Christopher Canal, Sean Canal, and Katie Canal; sister, Imelda O. Cantu; nieces and nephews, Angela Clark, Marc Rodriguez, Pamela Ryan, Cathy Cook, Patty Flanders and Lisa Smith.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, March 28, 2016, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
