Joseph Karl Wipff, Jr., 73, of Burkett, formerly of Quemado, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez Texas State Veterans Home in Big Spring. Private family services will be held at a later date.
He was born October 31, 1939 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Martha Christine (Karow) and Joseph Karl Wipff, Jr. He lived most of his life in Quemado until 2000. He was a Veteran of the Navy serving during the Cold War. He married Sandra Ellen Eccleston on October 31, 1987 in Crystal City. He was a rancher in Quemado for most of his life. He was a Deputy Sheriff in Uvalde and Maverick Counties. He was also a Game Warden in Dimmit, Maverick and Zavala Counties and a Constable in Maverick County. He was a Lutheran.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Wipff of Burkett: four sons: Russell Wipff of Lubbock, Joseph Karl Wipff, III of Canby, Oregon, John Wipff of Abilene and Daniel Wipff of Burkett; one sister and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister.

Alicia Valdez Quesada, 78, passed away March 12, 2013. She was born August 7, 1934 to Nicolas Valdez and Virginia Dominguez in Eagle Pass, Texas.
Alicia was a lifetime civil servant for the social security office in Lufkin, Texas, Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas and the Corpus Christi Army Depot in Corpus Christi, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, Nicolas Valdez and Virginia D. Valdez; Petronillo (Maria) Valdez, Nicolas Valdez, Jr., Jose Valdez, Concepcion Valdez Remmey, Esperanza Ramirez, Rogelio Valdez and Rosario Valdez. She is survived by her husband, Manuel Quesada, Jr.; her 5 children, Gloria V. Quesada, Manuel Quesada, Jr. III, Oscar Quesada (Leslee Cathy), Michael Quesada and Patrick Quesada. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories her siblings; Romelia (Juan) Torres, Oscar (Josie) Valdez, Marina Salinas, Raul D. Valdez, Rose Valdez, Irma Valdez Ybarbo, Roberto (Graciela) Valdez, Ricardo (Gina) Valdez and Mary Valdez; her Godchildren Desiree Mia Valdez, Alvar David Valdez, Veronica Torres and Mario Valdez; numerous nephews, nieces and a host of friends. Family will be receiving friends at St. Peter Prince of the Apostle Catholic Church- 3901 Violet Rd. from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, 14, 2013 with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm that same evening. A Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 am on Friday, March 15, 2013 at St. Peter Prince of the Apostle Catholic Church-3901 Violet Rd., with a burial at 10:00 am at the Coastal Bend State Veteran Cemetery.

Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Juan Homero Hinojosa, José Luis Hinojosa, daughters: Martha B. Hinojosa, Rosalinda De León, Azucena M. Hinojosa, Margarita Hinojosa. His Grandsons/Grand-daughters: Juan Homero Hinojosa II, Giovanni E. Hinojosa, Jose Luis II Hinojosa, Laura Hinojosa, Alexis Hinojosa, Jesse A. Patrick J. Valdez, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2013 at St. Luke’s Medical Center after a long illness. Patrick was born in Eagle Pass, Texas on June 20, 1964, to Consuelo Valdez and Armando Valdez Sr.
Patrick attended William Horlick High School and graduated from Eagle Pass High School. While in high school Patrick enjoyed playing baseball, football, wrestling and other school activities. Following high school Patrick attended Texas A & M and earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Management from the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater. On October 9, 1993 he was united in marriage to the former Sandra Flores in Racine, WI Prior to his illness Patrick was employed as the Director of Operations at Ser Jobs For Progress in Milwaukee WI. Through his work he was involved with many community based organizations that served the underprivileged as it related to education, employment and training. Patrick along with his late brother Armando were founding members of the Racine Mexican Fiesta, raising funds that provided scholarships to minority students seeking higher education. Patrick had a kind heart and a passion for helping people. Patrick is survived by his wife, Sandra Valdez; mother Consuelo Valdez, father Armando Valdez Sr.; children, Jacob (Gabrielle), Justino, Isabella, Jolissa and Armando Valdez; granddaughter Lelani Valdez; mother and father in law Polly and Secundino (Cundo) Flores, sister-in-law Sylvia Banda, brothers –in-law Dino (Rachael) Flores and Jose Flores; niece Beth Ann (Jason) Douglas; nephews, Caleb (Daniella)Valdez, Sam (Angel) Valdez and Rio (Selina) Valdez, Joseph Valdez; great nieces, Anna Marie Douglas, Emma Valdez, Elliana Valdez; great nephews, Caleb Valdez Jr., Luciano Valdez; sister-in-law Elizabeth Valdez; aunts Mary Ayala, Esperanza Rodriguez, Josephina Rodriguez; uncles Jose (Elida) and Juan Antonio Sanchez; and many cousins and friends. Patrick was preceded in death by his beloved brother Armando Valdez Jr., grandparents, and other close relatives. Patrick was very loved and will be deeply missed by all of his relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 22, 2013, 12:00 P.M. at Assembly of God, 7311 S. 13th Street, Oak Creek, WI 53154 with Rev. Juan Garay officiating. Interment will follow at Good Hope Cemetery, 4101 S. 43rd Street, Greenfield, WI 53220. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the Assembly of God from 10:00 A.M. until time of service at 12:00 P.M. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
