Stripes Donated $500.00 to the Aguilar Family, who lost their home as a result of a fire earlier this month. Representatives of Stripes, including area manager Jorge Torres, Stripes Manager Reynol Jimenez and Jorge Martinez, Stripes Manager were on hand at their Del Rio Blvd. location to offer some support to the family who was very gracious. Mr. and Mrs. Aguilar stated that they are happy that no one was hurt in this tragic event and want to thank Stripes and all of the other community members who have come forth to lend a helping hand.

JC penney at Mall de las Aguilas inaugurated its new interior designs
which feature new products, fashion lines and departments within the
store to better serve its clientele.
Juan Flores, Store Manager, informed The News Gram that he is proud to
present Phase II of the plan to fully remodel the location to achieve
a more modern, customer-friendly look which is sure to pleas shoppers.
The three new sections which opened on Friday were the new men's and
women's departments.
He also mentioned that in this way, JC Penney's customers can enjoy a
long list of new products, cosmetics, clothing for young men and
women, children's clothes, jewelry and even lingerie from such
established companies such as Liz Claiborne, and JCP for women and
Izod and JCP for men.
Levi's and Arizona jeans are also now available as well.
Phase I of the remodeling featured cosmetics by Sephora, a new beauty
salon and other cosmetics and they have provided over 200 free
haircuts for children going back to school.
The Chamber of Commerce was in charge of organizing the event then
customers were welcomed in to enjoy the new sections.
Flores concluded that Phase III of the project is now underway and
will be completed some time this year as well. The public in general
is invited to come out to enjoy your shopping experience at the new
and improved JC Penney, Mall de las Aguilas.
"JC Penney is one of the most iconic stores in our mall," stated
sandra Martinez, Directress of the COC.
The store has approximately 105 employees and according to Mr. Flores,
sales are up from a year ago and thanks to their ever-faithful
clientele from South Texas and Piedras Negras, they're hoping to have
an equally successful year's end.
