A police spokesperson said that the three who were wounded - a cop and two hospital employees - are out of danger despite their bullet wounds.
The spokesperson said that police got a call Saturday morning warning them that an armed man had entered the hospital.
When confronted by police, the man opened fire, at which time police shot and killed him.
The incident occurred just 24 hours after the United States suffered its second-worst massacre in history with the slaying of 27 people at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut, 20 of whom were children.
Authorities have not yet determined why the man went armed to the medical center. EFE
