Maria Esther Mejia
1925-2017

Maria Esther Mejia entered into eternal rest on July 13, 2017, at the age of 92. She was born on January 16, 1925, in Allende, Coahuila, to Timoteo Sanchez and Candelaria Cardoza. Maria is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and her brother Alberto. She is survived by her son, Juan Miguel Mejia; her daughter, Maricela Mejia; her granddaughters, Dina Mejia and Rebecca Prentice; and her great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Socorro Cardoza Maltos and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation for Maria was held on July 16 and 17, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A religious service was held in Chapel A on July 16. Interment took place at Maverick County Cemetery on July 17. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels. Irenia F. Sierra
1932-2017

Irenia F. Sierra went to be with the Lord on July 9, 2017, in Laredo, Texas, at the age of 85. She was born on June 28, 1932, in Poteet, Texas, to Nicolas and Maria de Jesus Flores. Irenia is survived by her daughter, Irene Guadalupe (Oscar) Chacon, of Laredo; her grandchildren, Laura Leticia (Abel) Lerma, Maritza Ereni Benavides and Oscar (Amy) Chacon; and her great-grandchildren, Felipe, Yaritza, Analy, Valeria, Samuel, Oscar and Natalie. Visitation for Irenia was held on July 11 and 12, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A religious service was held in Chapel A. Interment followed at Maverick County Cemetery. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Sierra and Chacon family.


Aurelio Garcia
1945-2017

Aurelio Garcia entered into eternal rest on June 28, 2017, in Eagle Pass, at the age of 72. He was born April 5, 1945, in El Nacimiento, Muzquiz, Coahuila, to Genaro Garcia and Maria Socorro Valdez. Aurelio is survived by his wife, Marie Sue, and several other family members. Funeral services for Aurelio were held in accordance to Kickapoo tribe traditions. Juana Ornelas
1922-2017

Juana Ornelas, born on July 28, 1922, went to be with the Lord on June 24, 2017, at the age of 94, in Eagle Pass. Born in Frontera, Coahuila, she was the daughter of Alvino Lopez and Santos Ledezma. Juana is survived by her son, Luz Humberto; and her daughters, Sonia, Idalia and Sorayda. She is also survived by twenty-three grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation for Juana was held on July 25 and 26, 2017, at Funerales Socorro in Piedras Negras. Graveside services were held at the Panteon Municipal on July 26. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel and Funerales Socorro.
