OBITUARY

 

 

 

Minerva Rivas

1953-2017

 

Minerva Rivas went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2017, in San Antonio, at the age of 63. She was born on July 17, 1953, in Puerto Grande, Nuevo Leon, to Juan Lucio Paredes and

Margarita Loera Costilla. Minerva is survived by her husband, Jose Guadalupe Rivas; her daughters, Nancy Irene and Norma Laura; and her sons, Adrian Alejandro, Jose Guadalupe, Marcial, Francisco Javier, Eduardo, Hugo and Jesus; twenty-four grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Maria Genoveva, Maria Filomena, and Maria Olga; and her brothers, Jose Manuel, Ociel, Lucio, Jose Candelario and Erasmo. Visitation for Minerva was held at Funerales Socorro in Piedras Negras on May16 and 17, 2017. A religious service was held on May 17, with interment following at Panteon Santo Cristo. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels and Funerales Socorro. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Rivas family.

 

 

 

Salvador Apolinar Sanchez

1950-2017


Salvador Apolinar Sanchez, born on January 21, 1950, went to be with the Lord on May 14, 2017, at the age of 67, in San Antonio. Born in Nava, Coahuila, Salvador was the son of Francisco Apolinar and Aurora Sanchez. Salvador is survived by his sons, Salvador, Eduardo and Mario; and his daughters, Andrea, Marisol, Soraida, Magaly and Carmen. He is also survived by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Cremation services were performed at the request of the family. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Valdez & Sons Funeral Chapel and Crematory. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Apolinar family.

 

 

 

Felicitas Villarreal

1922-2017

 

Felicitas Villarreal entered into eternal rest on May 13, 2017, in Eagle Pass, at the age of 94. She was born December 5, 1922, in La Vernia, Texas, to Blas & Casimira Villarreal. Felicitas is survived by her children and grandchildren. Visitation and funeral services for Felicitas were held in Allende, Coahuila. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels and Funerales Socorro. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Villarreal family.

 

 

Rafael Manzano

1950-2017

 

Rafael Manzano went to be with the Lord on May 10, 2017 at the age of 66. He was born on August 24, 1950, in Guanajuato, to Jesus Del Manzano Barrios and Raquel Robles Mancilla. Rafael is survived by his wife, Norma Alicia Manzano; his son, Jorge Rafael Manzano; his daughter, Norma Lizette Olivas; his son in law, Jorge Raul Olivas; and his grandchildren, Jorge Raul Olivas, Joaquin Rogelio Olivas and Maya Victoria Olivas. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters: Oney Del Manzano Robles, Irma Del Manzano Robles, Gilberto Del Manzano Robles, Aurora Del Manzano Robles, Raymundo Del Manzano Robles, Candido Del Manzano Robles, Columba Del Manzano Robles and Victor Del Manzano Robles. Cremation services were performed at the request of the family. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 13, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Valdez & Sons Funeral Chapel and Crematory. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Manzano family.

 

 

 

Bryan Rodriguez

2008-2017

 

Bryan Rodriguez, born July 15, 2008, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2017, in Eagle Pass. He was born in San Antonio, to Oscar and Emma Rodriguez. Bryan is survived by his father, Oscar Rodriguez; his mother, Emma Rodriguez; his brothers, Oscar III, Adrian and Isac; and his sisters, Kasandra, Klarisa and Kaila. He is also survived by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation for Bryan was held May 10 and 11, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held on May 11 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment followed at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapel. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Rodriguez family.

 

 

 

Jose Santos Martinez

1930-2017

 

Jose Santos Martinez entered into eternal rest on May 4, 2017, at the age of 87. He was born on February 1, 1930, in San Luis Potosi, to Anacleto Martinez and Epimenia Flores. Jose is survived by his sons, Jose Prajedis Martinez, Juan Jose Martinez, Martin Martinez and Ignacio Martinez; and his daughters, Maria de Jesus Martinez, Maria Ernestina Martinez, Maria del Carmen Rodriguez and Maria Magdalena Martinez. He is also survived by twenty-eight grandchildren and forty-four great-grandchildren. Visitation for Jose was held on May 6 and 7, 2017 at Funerales Socorro in Piedras Negras. A funeral mass was held at on May 7, with interment following at the Panteon Municipal in Piedras Negras. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels and Funerales Socorro. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Martinez family.

Ernesto Cortes

1925-2017

 

Ernesto Cortes went to be with the Lord on May 3, 2017, in Eagle Pass, at the age of 91. He was born on July 6, 1925, to Ernesto Cortes and Encarnacion Martinez in Saltillo, Coahuila. Ernesto is survived by his wife, Maria de los Angeles Yosikawa; his sons, Ernesto Cortes, Jose Maria Cortes, Alonso Cortes and Rigoberto Cortes, all of Eagle Pass; and his daughters, Rosa Elia Jimenez and Luz Marina Ramos, both of Eagle Pass, and Flor Estela Cortez, of Piedras Negras. He is also survived by nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great-grandchildren. Visitation for Ernesto was held on May 4 and 5, 2017, at Memorial Funeral Chapel. A funeral mass was held on May 5 at Our Lady of Refuge Catholic Church. Interment followed at Our Lady of Refuge Cemetery. Arrangements were made under the care and direction of Memorial Funeral Chapels. At this time, we would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers for the Cortes family.
