Senayda competed against hundreds of students statewide for only twenty slots available in the FAME Program.
In order to meet degree requirements set for all college graduates in the State of Texas, core courses have been interwoven into a fully functional, collaborative seven year curriculum with the end result of graduating physicians.
The program recruits and admits highly qualified students who will benefit from an accelerated degree program, an innovative curriculum, early immersion into medical education and professional identity formation and most importantly for Saucedo and her parents Sylvia and Pat, a decreased overall student debt.
Zenayda is a member of the National Honor Society, is president of the Heath Occupation Society of America and serves as a facilitator/volunteer with UTHSCA Teen Medical Academy and attended three medical camps this past summer among other academic and athletic endeavors.
