Team Mexico won it again at the 2014 River Cup held last weekend at the Eagle Pass Municipal Golf course.

On Friday, the 3-man teams teed off on Friday in the Taco Tournament and ended up square after 14 rounds of play at 7-7.

On Saturday, in scramble format, the score card provided to us shows Mexico with 2 and 6 while the US squad shows 5.5 and 2.5 which seems to be as close as you can call it going into Day 3.

This set up the big Day 3 showdown for all the marbles and definite bragging rights until next year.

This is how it all went down on Sunday.  Grant Bibb and Ricardo De La Cabada halved their singles match followed by Bobby Martinez over Beto Ochoa.

City Champ Jerry Rhoades couldn't hold off Jorge De La Cabada, then Joe Venegas defeated Wicho Villareal.  Doc Barron and Tony Maldonado lost their matches to Raul Figueroa and Javier Hernandez respectively.

The incomparable Choche Treviño did his part by knocking off De La Cruz, but Luis Rodriguez, Gab Garcia and Mark Maldonado dropped their matches to Jose Gonzalez, Alex Garza and Hector Ruelas respectively.

It was Che Rodriguez over Salvador Castillon, Gus Jimenez lost to Huevo Garcia and Bear Salinas and Tavo Castaño halved.

Adair Ibarra beat Guayo Gonzalez, but Guayo Lopez defeated Rick Maldonado.  Rodrigo Trigos of Mexico defeated the US's Ricardo Brosig.  Humberto Venegas lost to Fernando Turner, Jose Luis Hernandez defeated Steve Luna, but Jaime Flores came through for the Red, White and Blue with a big win over Saul Rodriguez. David Jimenez fell to Luis Fresnillo while Charlie Schuessler halved his match with Reymundo Martinez.  Orly Rodriguez was downed by Rigoberto Navarro and Mexico took the overall victory 15.5-8.5.
