BARBARA JEAN KELLY, Went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 4, 2014 at the age of 78 at her residence in Converse, Texas. Barbara was survived by Daughter: Cathy Kelly Canales; Sister: Joan McDavid. Also survive her are 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Baptist Church in Quemado. RODOLFO HERNANDEZ, 78 born, December 7, 1935 in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, Mexico. Suddenly passed away on July 4, 2014 in White Bear Lake, Minnesota. Rodolfo was sur- vived by his wife of 56 years, Estella Garcia Hernandez; Sons: Rodolfo Hernandez Jr. (Brenda) and Roberto Hernandez (Diana); Daughters: LiAna Hernandez-Macias (Marcos), Maria Garza (Carlos), Ruth Hernandez-Tellez (Alvino) and Rebecca Gonzales (Raymond). Also survive him are 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Son of Valeriano and Elena Hernandez and Grandson of Francisca Zuniga Hernandez. He attended Eagle Pass Schools and graduated in 1954. While in high school, he played several sports but excelled in baseball. He enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956 and served until 1960. He was trained as a military policeman and continued to play baseball on base teams and tried out for the Denver Bears, a Triple A team. Once he returned to civilian life, he held several occupations which included gas stations, oil rigs, and at SMT (Southwest Motor Transit). In 1969 he moved to Minnesota and worked in a meat processing plant, Tony Downs. In 1970 he began his career’s work with social service agencies. His first job was with Migrant Action Program (MAP). He later continued to work with Manpower /Education and Training and Tri-Valley with migrant education in Minnesota and retired in 2005. Rodolfo served on the United Medical Center Board in Eagle Pass, Board of Govonors of Migrant Affairs, Board of Migrant Council and Board of Minnesota Migrant Health. In retirement, he continued to work with people, as a Lay Pastor at Iglesia Bautista, Ven A El in Chula Vista. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Iglesia Bautista Ven A El, 313 Crane St., Chula Vista, TX, 78852. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Yeager-Barrera Chapel.
